Siam Brothers Vietnam accompanies “Lighting up the Sea with Fishermen”

On March 27th, the Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper and Siam Brothers Vietnam Joint Stock Company signed a cooperation agreement between the two entities. Accordingly, Siam Brothers Vietnam Joint Stock Company has signed with the newspaper to sponsor the program 'Lighting up the Sea with Fishermen'.

Ms. Ngô Từ Đông Khanh, General Director of Siam Brothers Vietnam Joint Stock Company, expressed honor and joy in participating in the signing ceremony, commemorating the collaboration between Siam Brothers Vietnam and the Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper.

"We are very willing to accompany the Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper in contributing to helping fishermen raise awareness and comply with the law when fishing at sea to implement the government's action plan to remove the IUU yellow card," the representative stated.

According to Ms. Khanh, the program "Lighting up the Sea with Fishermen" organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper is very meaningful, helping fishermen facing difficulties at sea in various practical ways.

"Beside the gifts, we’ll direct provision of essential equipment, and tools, the program also enhances knowledge, skills, improves working conditions, and contributes to creating new opportunities for fishermen in the integration process. I hope the significance of the program will continue to spread," Ms. Khanh said.

Mr. Mai Ngọc Phước emphasized that the news media industry always cares about activities beyond its pages, such as charity programs to help those in difficult circumstances, mobilizing support for flood-affected areas in Central Vietnam, and building houses for charity...

"In 2017, Europe issued the IUU yellow card against Vietnamese seafood, causing significant losses to Vietnam's seafood industry, especially fishermen and seafood enterprises.

Therefore, the Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper organized the program 'Lighting up the Sea with Fishermen' with the aim of legal dissemination to help fishermen better understand the law for proper fishing practices. In addition, the program also provides additional scholarships for fishermen's children, and gifts small items like battery packs + LED lights, medicine, and handbooks on essential knowledge about fishing," Mr. Mai Ngọc Phước shared.

In seven months, the program "Lighting up the Sea with Fishermen" reached nine provinces and cities nationwide, distributing 1,700 gifts to fishermen, granting 300 scholarships, and many other valuable gifts such as study materials, milk, and food for fishermen's children to overcome difficulties and excel in their studies.

According to Mr. Mai Ngọc Phước, the program's positive outcomes are partly due to the substantial support and unity from sponsoring business entities.

During the signing ceremony, the Editor-in-Chief of the Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper expressed gratitude to Siam Brothers Vietnam Joint Stock Company for their trust and collaboration with the program. He also hoped for further enhancement of the relationship between the two parties.
