On February 24, 2021, representatives from the local government of Phung Hiep district, sponsors, Siam Brothers Vietnam, parents, and young students warmly welcomed the newly constructed Son Ca Kindergarten in Kinh Cung town – Phung Hiep district – Hậu Giang province.

Over the past two years, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has brought many challenges to impoverished districts. In Phung Hiep district, despite various measures taken by local authorities to revive the economy post-pandemic, investment in infrastructure remains limited, particularly in the construction of school facilities.
The construction project of Son Ca Kindergarten is coordinated by the non-governmental organization Saigon Children’s Charity (Saigonchildren), along with sponsors such as PV Trans, Mr. Mathew Donald (The Teuchter) – Sports Ambassador of Saigonchildren, and Siam Brothers Vietnam. The project includes the inauguration of two classrooms with accompanying sanitation facilities, a playground, and a storage area covering an area of 200 square meters.

Previously, we had to mobilize our children to attend school, but the facilities were not adequate. The kindergarten classes had to temporarily study at Kim Đồng Elementary School. Now, with students returning after the recent pandemic, the school has welcomed them back with new classrooms. Currently, there are 25 students in the bud class and 31 students in the leaf class, and we continue to encourage local parents to send their children to school." - Ms. Huynh Thi Tien - Principal of the school.

At the ceremony, representatives of the sponsors shared their joy with the school administration, parents, and local leaders.

Especially, at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Mathew Donald also conveyed a message through Mr. Nguyen Quyet Huong, a representative of PV Trans, to share with the kindergarten students at the school: 'You are the motivation for me to work and act for the country of Vietnam. I hope you study diligently to make the world a better place.' Mr. Mathew Donald is currently the Sports Ambassador of saigonchildren and has organized a charity Boxing event that raised over $60,000 for the school construction program.
In the journey to provide a better start for children in difficult circumstances, Siam Brothers Vietnam could not have accomplished this without the support of Saigonchildren and the sponsor PV Trans, without the deep concern and enthusiastic support of local leaders, the school administration, and teachers. And the joy would not be complete without the efforts of parents in encouraging and bringing their children to school.
Siam Brothers Vietnam wishes the teachers at the school abundant health to educate generations for the country and hopes the school has a successful academic year with many achievements!
